A rich, dense, vein section of massive vibrant red Cinnabar from the lesser known locality of Münsterappel, Nordpfälzer Land, Donnersbergkreis, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. This large miniature specimen bears an old typed number label (no. 1977) relating to a series of old German collection labels. These stretch back from Senator F. J. Kessler (c.1808-1889) to early in the 19th century. The labels are full of character. The surfaces of the specimen have been abraded over its long history, but this specimen is more important for its locality, than aesthetics. There are inclusions of several other species intergrown with the Cinnabar that have not been investigated. A fantastic historic German specimen.
