A richly crystallized miniature specimen of Cinnabar from the classic European locality of Landsberg (Moschellandsberg) in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The crystals are small (less than 2 mm) in size, but deep red, very bright and nicely formed. An old handwritten number label (no. 649) attached to this specimen is from Joseph Neeld's (1789-1856) collection showing its historical pedigree and how well preserved this specimen has been kept.
