SPECIMEN DESCRIPTION

A very rich small thumbnail specimen of Kegelite from the Type Locality at Tsumeb mine, Namibia. Kegelite, a complex lead aluminium silicate sulphate carbonate hydroxide, forms pearly white coatings in several cavities within highly oxidized vein material. The largest areas of Kegelite extend to 7 mm x 3 mm. This is an excellent example of this extremely rare species.
