N'tola mine in the Mindouli District in the Republic of the Congo is a relative newcomer to the Dioptase scene. The first specimens which came to the market between 2016 and 2018 were pure Dioptase-lined casts, but in 2019 a small number of specimens showing matrix and sprinkled with tiny yellow pyramidal Mimetite crystals appeared. This small cabinet specimen features dolomitized rock with cavities lined with white rhombic Dolomite microcrystals and very glossy bright emerald green Dioptase crystals. Small yellow pyramidal Mimetite microcrystals add a lovely distinctive touch to this specimen. Ex Nick Hawes collection.
