Centennial mine at Calumet Township in the heart of copper country in Houghton County, Michigan is famous for 'Copper Skulls' - Native Copper casts around/after long since gone conglomerate pebbles and cobbles. This fine large example is like a baseball glove, only a little heavier! It has a rough, hackly texture, and still contains many smaller rock clasts embedded within it. The Native Copper has a variable tarnish, some bright metallic, other areas much duller, and with some small inclusions of Native Silver. Ex Nick Hawes collection.
