This fine display specimen of crystallized Native Copper has a lovely character to it. Described as from Grand Marais Reef/Eagle Habor in Keweenaw County, Michigan, it consists of a dense, tightly formed aggregate of spinel-twinned Native Copper crystals in a branching dendritic form. The Native Copper is a distinctive and somewhat attractive deep orange-red colour with a dull to metallic lustre and interspersed with patches of dull pale grey matrix, possibly Quartz. A fine display piece, yet small enough to fit in a standard drawer. Ex David Hardman collection, no. 1110.
