NATIVE COPPER

SPECIMEN DESCRIPTION

A large, and brightly coloured hackly Native Copper from White Pine mine in Ontonagon County, Michigan. The bright metallic lustre and intense copper orange colour is exceptional. Added to this the specimen is included with white fragmentary Quartz crystals with some casts after prismatic Quartz crystals visible within the Native Copper. Careful inspection reveals that the Native Copper is itself intricately crystallized, with small blocky crystals and complex growth patterns throughout. Ex David Hardman collection, but missing its label. An older Nick Carruth label is present.
