NATIVE COPPER with NATIVE SILVER on PREHNITE

Osceola Mine, Osceola, Calumet Township, Houghton County, Michigan, USA
$1400€1176£1029$1400
SPECIMEN DESCRIPTION

Rich hackly orange metallic Native Copper protrudes dramatically out from a basalt matrix with cavities lined with pale green Prehnite crystals and white Calcite. Minor spots of Native Silver sit upon the Prehnite in cavities and more Native Copper is disseminated throughout the basalt matrix. An 'arm' of Native Copper acts as a support, allowing this specimen to stand upright for display. This is not the richest, or heaviest Native Copper from Osceola mine by any stretch, but it does display really nicely and has the classic combination of Native Copper with Prehnite. Ex David Hardman collection, no. 3035.
