Datolite discoveries at Dalnegorsk in Primorskiy Kray, Russia during the 1980s and early 1990s represented a new level in quality for the boron species. This fine cabinet specimen from the David Hardman collection dates to that period and consists of a thin plate of large (up to 4 cm across), extremely glassy pale green Datolite crystals with partial overgrowth of small Quartz crystals. The Quartz crystals detract somewhat from the Datolite crystals, but there is still no doubting the quality of their form and lovely colour.
