Beautiful aesthetic druses of lustrous cubic, brassy-gold Pyrite crystals of 2 to 3 mm are draped over a rich bed of cuboctahedral Galena and Fluorite from Blackdene mine by the village of Ireshopeburn in Weardale, County Durham. The steel-grey Galena crystals measure to 1.5 cm and the associated tiny Fluorite cubes have crazed creamy-white centres with pale lilac edges. A very fine and striking specimen of Pyrite from this famous Weardale Fluorite locality.
